Abstract

One of the most popular sports played by the public is volleyball. With the high number of volleyball enthusiasts, inter-club championships were held which even reached championships on a small scale, namely tarkam (between villages). one of the areas that has the highest interest in tarkam is Basa Ampek Balai Tapan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Tarkam championships aside from fostering volleyball achievements can also be used as a venue as a source of income. As well as the existence of social interaction in the game of volleyball is also very important. Therefore, research on the participation of volleyball players was carried out from the social, material and achievement aspects. This research is a quantitative descriptive research conducted by distributing questionnaires to tarkam players in Basa Ampek Balai Tapan District.The population of this study was 104 men, whose average age was between 17-34 years with the dominant age at 23-25 years, namely 50%. For data analysis conducted validity test. From the social aspect, there are two invalid statements, while from the material and achievement aspects, all statements are valid. Furthermore, a reliability test was carried out which stated the social, material and achievement aspects were included as reliable. And also carried out the Pearson correlation test which states the correlation relationship between aspects. The correlation between social and material aspects shows a correlation, social aspects and achievements show no correlation while the material and achievement aspects also show no correlation..
