Abstract

Psychosocial is a change and stability in emotions, personality and social relationships that can affect cognitive and physical functioning in school-age children. This research is motivated by the lack of psychosocial phenomena in students. This can be seen from the presence of students who have difficulty controlling their emotions when they are with friends, there are students who cannot establish good teamwork when doing activities together, including sports. The purpose of this study was to (1) describe the psychosocial aspects of children (2) examine the psychosocial differences between children who are active in sports and those who are not active in sports. This research uses a quantitative approach with a comparative descriptive research type. The population in this study were 83 students in grades IV, V and VI of SD Negeri 25 Air Tawar Selatan Padang, with a sample of 34 students selected by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a Likert scale psychosocial questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis with percentage techniques and different test analysis (t-test) with the help of the SPSS version 20.0 program. The results of the study revealed: (1) psychosocial students at SD Negeri 25 Air Tawar Barat Padang were generally in the category above the score the average is the same as the number of students who have scores below the average score with a percentage of 17.00% each, (2) there is a significant difference in the psychosocial status of students based on their activeness in sports with a coefficient of sig.(2-tailed) < sig 0, 05, which is equal to 0.000 <0.05), where the psychosocial students who actively exercise are higher than the psychosocial students who do not actively exercise.
