Abstract: This study focuses on the basic technical skills of Sungai Abang Football School (SSB) players in Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of basic technical skills of Sungai Abang Football School (SSB) players in Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency, consisting of passing, dribbling, and shooting tests.
This research employed a descriptive quantitative method. The instrument used in this study was a basic football technical ability test, which included passing and control, dribbling, and shooting. The subjects were all 42 athletes from Sungai Abang Football School (SSB) in Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency, while the sample size was 28 athletes determined using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used in this study was a basic football skills test consisting of passing, dribbling, and shooting.
The results of the study indicate that the athletes' passing and control abilities are in the very poor category (64%), dribbling abilities are in the very poor category (43%), and shooting abilities are in the very poor category (64%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the basic technical skills of the athletes at Sungai Abang High School, Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency, are generally still in the low category. Therefore, a more focused, systematic, and sustainable training program is needed to improve the athletes' basic technical skills.
