Abstract

The problem in this study was the lack of an appropriate training program with the aim of increasing muscle mass, in which case the members did not take measurements to determine the success of the training program to increase muscle load. The purpose of this study was to see whether there was an effect of the drop set method of weight training on increasing upper arm muscle mass in D'classic Fitness Padang members. The type of research used in this study is an experiment. The population in this study were all members of D'classik Fitness Padang. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling with age criteria of 17-30 years, based on this, the sample consisted of 11 people. An instrument for measuring the volume of several parts of the body using a tape measure (meter). This measurement covers several body parts consisting of chest circumference, arm circumference, thigh circumference and calf circumference and the researchers took muscle samples, namely arm circumference. Data analysis techniques using the T- test. The results of the study found a count of 5.005 > ttable of 1.789. it can be interpreted that there is a significant effect of weight training with the drop set method on increasing the muscle mass of the upper arm members of the classical fitness field.
